Vlog 4: Visiting Taipei

Vlog 4

I can't believe I am more than half way done with my summer program. After finishing up semester exams, my school gave us a choice between going on a class field trip or taking a four day weekend. I chose to take the four day weekend and go visit my sister in Taipei. She is currently just interning there for the summer at a product design firm.

Taipei was really fun! I got to eat a bunch of great food, spend time with my sister and friends, and meet new people. The boba milk tea in Taipei was amazing. I tried about five different boba milk tea spots. Thank goodness I had some friends who knew the best spots to eat and drink boba. Besides eating, I went to a few museums and temples, a hike, a hot spring bath, and a concert. The concert was fun, at first I wasn't interested, but then she started to sing a song I knew. I ended up singing at a distance on the microphone and got an autograph during the concert. Thanks Jes!

Anyways this vlog was filmed on top of Taipei 101 the second tallest building in the world (I think). I am definitely rambling on, so I will stop here. Thanks to Jade, her friends, and Connie & Aiden for showing me a good time in Taipei.

Until next time,

Gabe

Vlog 3: Scorpions + McDonalds

Vlog3

Today we visited the Night Market in Beijing near the Wangfujing subway station.

I guess I wanted to talk a little bit about food in China. The Night Market has a lot of exotic foods. It probably is more of a tourist attraction than anything else. There were a lot of foreigners and a few over priced popular items (scorpions etc), well in Chinese terms. Nonetheless, it was on the menu and Alex and I felt that we would not be getting the full Chinese experience unless we tried one. I bought some McDonalds just in case things went really bad.

Beijing is a rapidly growing city with many fast food restaurants popping up everywhere. Yes, most of my meals consist of the Chinese food; however, American fast food isn't too far away. I will probably talk more about food later. By the way the stinger was edible as well. I hope you enjoyed this short bit.

Thanks,

Gabe

Vlog 2

Vlog2

Hopefully I get better at these. Sorry, for the wind in the vlog. Anyways, as always any feed back is appreciated. I don't think I will be doing anything for fancy for awhile.

Anyways, I plan to do these vlogs once a week with no editing.

Keep in touch,

Gabe
